Met during his studies in Paris, Szeligowski became one of Mycielski’s closest friends. While still in Paris Mycielski admired Szeligowski’s Green Songs. In 1934 Mycielski settled in Vilnius thanks to Szeligowski and began working for the local branch of the Polish Radio. Szeligowski and his wife visited Wiśniowa before the war. After the war the Szeligowskis settled in Poznań, but the friendship of the two composers survived. After Szeligowski’s death Mycielski wrote briefly:
