Igor Stravinsky
Zygmunt Mycielski and Igor Stravinsky, Warsaw Autumn 1965
Igor Stravinsky
(1882–1971)
composer

Mycielski met Stravinsky shortly after beginning his studies in Paris, thanks to Nadia Boulanger, who adored Stravinsky's music and was a close friend of his. Mycielski, too, was enthusiastic about the works of the Russian master. He was particularly fond of his Symphony of Psalms. During his studies Mycielski also became friends with Igor’s son Sviatoslav, to whom he dedicated his early 5 Preludes for Piano.
